We’re flying into March

We’re flying into March next week; I can’t believe how quickly the last two months have gone. JCE have been really busy undertaking a large project on three very large units. The project is being run by Tom White and our apprentice Jake, who’ve had assistance from the other team members on and off. There are also other trades working alongside us.

Tom and Jake have stripped out all the wiring and replaced it all, along with changing the fire alarm system, external an internal lighting, providing sockets throughout, forklift chargers and a new shiny distribution board. We’ve also put in the electricals for a new kitchen, offices and WC’s. Once the project is finished, I will be able to show you some photos. The first photo shows just one of the units ready to start work on after the strip out.

With the new landlord legislation in place, we’ve been very busy carrying out periodic inspections on domestic and non-domestic properties. A lot of this work has been carried out by Vimmy and Tom Cullen. Vimmy and Tom then return to the properties who haven’t passed the inspection, to carryout remedial works to bring the electrics up to a satisfactory standard. Bringing peace of mind to the tenants and the landlords.

Little Tom Court has been busy installing car chargers and working in various Schools and large commercial properties on boiler systems. Tom doesn’t have a vast amount of experience within this area, but has taken to it like a duck to water and soon gets the boilers up and running again.

Danny, our other apprentice has been working with various members of the team. He’s been working on the units, as well as assisting with the periodic inspections, remedial works and assisting little Tom with boilers and heating systems.

Jerry and Martyn have been busy carrying our free estimates, along with dealing with emergency call outs. Recently Jerry went to a property where a customer had left an appliance to run over night. Luck for her the appliance had a fault and tripped the electrics. The customer called us to site that morning and Jerry found the appliance cable had started to melt and the plug has burnt the socket it was plugged into. Jerry rectified the issue quickly and the customer now has a working appliance again. The customer was so lucky it didn’t cause a fire. Things like this makes you think twice before leaving appliances working while we sleep in our beds at night.

We have lots of projects lined up over the coming months. Rewires, more car chargers, second fixing to return to when the other trades are ready for us and remedials on a large Hotel, to name but a few jobs.

So, as we’re flying into March next week, If you have any electrical requirements and would like Jerry or Martyn to attend your property to provide a free estimate, please feel free to give us a call on 01373 455 690, or email us at office@jcecontractingltd.co.uk

In other News I’m really pleased the lockdown road map has been released and the light at the end of the tunnel is looking much brighter!!
